Hi Chris, I just purchased "flappy bird" from your store at binpress. It's my first time doing this, so I'd like to know wich one is the xcode file I need to open (there are 3 files in the xcodeprojectfile) and do I need to download a special program to do the app? Thanks a lot!
    • Chris Mayer Publisher 3 years ago
Hi Camille, The correct file to open is the BirdFlapChallenge.xcodeproj file. The only software you'll need is the latest version of Xcode - which is available as a free download from the Mac App Store.

Hi Chris, I've just started adding some images and I noticed that they're too small with low quality. Here says that Supports iOS 6.x - 8.x, and devices with 3.5-inch or 4-inch retina displays. How can I have a better quality of images and have it possible to play in the iPad? Thanks a lot!
    • Chris Mayer Publisher 3 years ago
Hi Camille, The sample artwork has a retro game style, and so is low resolution - however, you can replace these images with higher resolution versions, your images will be automatically scaled to fit so that they are displayed at the best possible quality. I've built this project just for iPhone, there's not been much demand for an iPad version, but if enough people want it I will make it.

Hi Chris, thanks for replying! I've started testing the app and I'm thinking about deleting the upper pipe because my bird can never pass though. The picture I chose is probably smaller than the space the pipe would fill, even though it's for little children and I want to make as easy as possible :) if you have any advice on that please tell me! I tried just deleting the file but it still there. Is it possible and a good idea just to leave the bottom pipes? Thanks a lot!
    • Chris Mayer Publisher 3 years ago
Hi Camille. It's important that there is minimal blank space around your images. The pipe area will be the same, even if your images include a lot of blank space. To adjust the difficulty you can change the horizontal and vertical spacing, along with speed, and physics within the simple configuration area (as detailed in the PDF guide). If you want to remove the top pipes entirely I would recommend removing the pipes from the ViewController.xib interface file.

Hey Chris Many thanks for your template! One quick question, how might I add code to get the start screen to have separate music to the rest of the game? If it isn't easy then don't worry! :) All the best Jon
    • Chris Mayer Publisher 4 years ago
Hi Jon, Thank you. It would be possible to have different music on the start screen, however, there's no easy way to do this. It would involve writing some new code and changing some of the existing code too. If you use the 'get a quote' button on the right I can provide a cost for the changes needed. Thanks, Chris
