Do you support sending voice messages? Thank you
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 3 months ago
Yes, we have an add-on that supports audio and video messages. The add-on costs $99 for audio or video messages or $149 for both. Thanks, Ben

To understand fully correctly, It will be sending audio in a chat conversation just like whatsapp, correct? Im not talking about having 1on1 voice conversations. Thank you
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 3 months ago
This is correct, an audio or video message will be recorded and added to the main chat thread. Like WhatsApp. The recipient can click the message to listen / watch it. Thanks, Ben

    • Ben Smiley Publisher 3 months ago
I'm afraid that this SDK only supports messaging - not video calling. Thanks, Ben

can i host on my servers or code my own back-end?
    • BS Ben Smiley 5 months ago
Hi Vincent, I'm afraid that it's not possible to host the this chat on your own server. However, Firebase provides excellent value - most apps can support around 15k daily users on the free plan. We are developing a version that you can host but it's not going to be ready for Android until the start of December. If you would like more details you can send me a private message using the "request a quote" button. Thanks, Ben

I want to purchase chat sdk but i want to know if the following features exist; View other users profile Load earlier messages Clear conversations Emoticons Sent, delivered, read reciepts Block/unblock Message and notification counter Invite User status(online/offline) and last seen Settings-profile and notification settings like whatsapp and other IM messengers and privacy. Since i can't change server is it possible to create an admin panel to manage data? do i have full control of the server? And can data encryption be handled easily on the server side?
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 5 months ago
Hi Vincent, From the list you mentioned, the only features that aren't currently supported are: block/unblock, invite (if you have someone's contact, you can message them. You don't need an invite), last seen and settings screen. These features would be quite easy to add. In the past we've implemented a block user feature and it was a small amount of extra code. Thanks, Ben

all the others are there except block, invite, last seen and settings screen? and you code these features which are not there with an additional fee? and Since i can't change server is it possible to create an admin panel to manage data? do i have full control of the server? • Ben Smiley Publisher 5 months ago
All the other features are there and we could add the extra features for an additional fee. We could discuss that more in the private thread. You have full access to the database via the Firebase REST API. We have an web admin panel that was built for our web messenger so it could be customised for this chat. Encryption would need to be handled on the client side. Encrypting and decrypting messages isn't difficult the challenge is making sure that the client has the encryption key. This coiled be achieved by using a supplementary server. Thanks, Ben

can i use my own servers?
  • VJ vikas jain 5 months ago
as you are not using parse, how push will be sent. i read somewhere that it is not advisable to bundle server key . as in group and in private chat we will be in need to send push
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 5 months ago
Hi Vikas, We are currently using Backendless for push notifications. They offer a very similar service to the one that Parse used to offer. They allow you to send unlimited pushes to up to 1 million devices for free. Thanks, Ben

Hello I have my own application with a base chat functionality I use my own server for hosting I use standard http POST requests to send messages and GCM push to receive messages I wanna extend the functionality to be able to organize different chat groups and to send media messages Is your SDK able to be integrated to this infrastructure? Can I see some integration documentation?
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 6 months ago
Hi Andrey, There are ways that you could achieve what you're trying to do. The first would be to use the user interface from the Chat SDK and write your own back-end adapter. This is the code that translates user interfaces actions into server requests. To support group chats, you would need to make sure that functionality was supported by your server. The second option would be to replace the messaging from your server with the messaging system used in this SDK. If you did this, you're gain all the functionality already present in the Chat SDK - group chats and media messages. Thanks, Ben

Hello Ben I prefer the first variant, to use the user interface from the Chat SDK and write your own back-end adapter. I need to estimate the requirements of that adapter before I buy the Chat SDK for the interface. Where can I get some description of the Chat SDK requirements for my back-end integration?
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 6 months ago
Hi Andrew, I think it would be easier to discuss this by email. Then I can send you a code sample for how to write the user interface adapter. My email is ben [at] deluge [dot] co. Thanks, Ben

Can we use it on our dedicated server and our database instead of firebase?
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 11 months ago
Hi Hassan, Firebase is a realtime server and this Chat SDK is built upon the Firebase API. That means that it wouldn't be possible to run it on your own server. Thanks, Ben

hi, I want to buy your application but I have not decided application name I can change name but in licence it says it can be use in one application. When will I have to say in which application will I use. While google play store uploading or while testing on local machine.
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 11 months ago
Hi Sahin, You don't have to specify the name of the app that uses the license. That gives you the full freedom to test the code and release the app with any name. However, if you wanted to release a second app, you would need a second license. Thanks, Ben

Do push work on the Android demo? I closed the app, got a friend to send a message and nothing happened. No push..
    • Ben Smiley Publisher 12 months ago
Hi Billy, Push notifications aren't enabled for the demo. Only the real product. Thanks, Ben
