How to use in your own app

The project that exists can be built as a standalone app. In order to integrate this in your own app you will need to do the following:

Step 1 Import all files in the "SoundBoard" folder into your own project. These files should be:

  • soundBoardViewController.h
  • soundBoardViewController.m
  • soundBoardViewController.xib
  • recordViewController.h
  • recordViewController.m
  • recordViewController.xib
  • The 8 png files in the Resources group in the "Soundboard" folder

Step 2 Now from wherever you want to use the SoundBoard Recorder simply import "soundBoardViewController.h" and push the initialised object onto your navigationControllers Stack

E.g.

soundBoardViewController *soundBoard = [[soundBoardViewController alloc]init];
[self.navigationController pushViewController:soundBoard animated:YES];
[soundBoard release];

    Does it record in mp3 or caf format?
    • Wenpo Sun Publisher 4 years ago
      .caf although this can be changed by simply setting it in the code in the recordViewController

    Hi, Just purchased your soundboard code. I'm a newbie when it comes to changing code. Could you explain how I would: add new pages with buttons add mp3 sounds such as "sound1.mp3" where in the code do I add this? if sound is recorded, where is it saved? Thank you for any help. John from Bondi living in cold Canada!!!

      Hi John, 1. creating a new page is as simple as creating a viewController subclass like "soundBoardViewController". 2. You can see in the functions "playCustom1" to "playCustom12" play sounds from soundFilePath. Just do something similar but point it to your "sound1.mp3" in your [NSBundle mainBundle] 3. The sound is recorded in the apps "library" directory. You can see it in "recordViewController" in the function "recordAudio"
