Description
SimpleCron simplifies an important part of any Magento setup, the cron job. Especially useful for stores that don't have a way to create crontab entries, this simple Magento cron extension will periodically (at an interval you choose) trigger your store's cron jobs. Install it and forget it; you'll never need to worry about your crontab or scheduled task failing again.
Supported Versions: 1.4.0+
Installation
To install, first extract the zip file provided by binpress. This will give you a .tgz file; this is the file to upload to the Magento Connect Manager for your store.
Navigate to System -> Magento Connect -> Magento Connect Manager in your store's admin panel. In the 'Direct Package Upload' section, simply browse to the .tgz file extracted above, then hit 'Upload'.
NOTE -- Occasionally, Magento will not recognize the new extension until you log out / in and clear your cache.
